Finished readthrough and cosmetic cleanup of lsm-common package:
- Applied code formatting profile to all files
- Updated copyrights to reflect the most recent year
- Added copyrights where missing
- Fixed typos in comments
- Added comments where I thought them to be helpful
- Renamed misleading method name
- Organized imports
